Student FAQs for Shelton State Days

Will I receive a confirmation?

Yes, you will be emailed confirmation immediately after registering. A reminder email will also be sent closer to the date of your Shelton State Day. If a confirmation email is not received within 24 hours, please contact the Office of Recruiting at recruiting@sheltonstate.edu.

 

Once you have registered and received a confirmation, you will receive additional emails from your assigned advisor that include important details to be completed prior to attending your Shelton State Day.

 

Is there a fee to attend Shelton State Day?

No, Shelton State Day is FREE to all participants.

 

Can my parent(s) or family member(s) attend?

Yes! However, parents are not required to attend. We ask that students bring no more than 2 guests.

 

How do I get to campus and where do I park?

Shelton State Days are located on the Martin Campus of Shelton State Community College at 9500 Old Greensboro Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405. Free parking is located at the front of the building.

What if I need disability accommodations?

If you need accommodations during Shelton State Days, please contact the Office of Advising at 205.391.2484 or advising@sheltonstate.edu at least two full weeks prior to your session.

We work closely with the Office of Disability Services to make accommodations for your Shelton State Day experience.

 

I registered for a virtual session. How do I access the virtual session?

You will receive a Zoom link in a separate email from your assigned advisor. The Zoom link will also be included in your confirmation email.

 

I registered for a virtual session. How soon should I log in to the Zoom Meeting?

You will be admitted into the Zoom meeting 5-10 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled meeting time.

 

Should I know how to sign in to myShelton before my Shelton State Day?

Yes, signing in to myShelton is the first step to registering for classes.

 

Should I have my official high school transcript or test scores submitted before Shelton State Day?

Yes, advisors need a final high school transcript and/or test scores to advise you properly.

 

Something came up. Can I change my session?

Yes. You can reschedule or cancel your Shelton State Day through your Shelton State Day registration confirmation email or by logging in to your application portal. (You created a username and password for this at the time of application.) When you have accessed your application portal, click the “myEvents” tab, locate the session, and then click “Cancel.” Once you have canceled, select a new session from the available options.
